About Emilie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As an outside hitter and team captain, I bring power and aggression to my attacks. Defensively, I am quick and reliable with my back-row skills. As a team player, I prioritize trust, positive reinforcement and open communication focusing on the success of the entire team.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is built on determination, discipline and a drive for improvement. I’m goal-oriented, maintain a positive mindset and thrive in a team environment. I like to inspire and elevate those around me. I value teamwork and believe success is a collective effort. Through hard work, strong communication and trust, we can achieve our goals as a team.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I have been actively involved in several organizations outside of sports. I was a member of the National Charity League for a year where I volunteered at various community projects. Currently, I joined the Female Athlete Volunteers organization, where I help with local needs. In 2024, I received the "President's Award" for maintaining a high GPA throughout the year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through sports and my role as a team captain, I’ve learned to motivate and lead my teammates in a positive and collaborative environment. Through community service, I have deveoped empathy by better understanding other's needs and enjoy working with diverse groups to support local causes. Balancing academics, athletics, and volunteer work has taught me how to manage my time effectively.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A couple of years ago I faced a challenge in volleyball when I wanted to be a setter but none of the coaches saw me in that role, they all wanted me to be an OH. It was frustrating and disappointing, however, I embraced the role as an outside hitter and discovered that it suited me better. I have learned that sometimes the path you didn't plan for leads to better opportunities.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with strong academic programs and a vibrant sports culture. I want to continue playing volleyball at a competitive level, be part of a team that values both performance and friendships. I enjoy the energy and spirit that comes along with college athletics.
