Expert Analysis
Theresa Hickman | Prep Dig Scout
Sedona Weisbrod delivered one of the most explosive offensive performances of the day. Her approach tempo, vertical separation, and arm speed created immediate stress on defenses, and she consistently produced in transition. Weisbrod showed complete command managing out-of-system swings, terminating against size with authority while maintaining efficiency across long stretches.
Her back-row attack elevated her impact even further. Sedona attacked from behind the line with elite tempo and confidence, contacting high and consistently scoring against organized defenses. She stretched the floor vertically and laterally, forcing blockers and defenders to account for her in every rotation.
What separated her was her scoring range and control. She attacked seams with pace, tooled effectively, and remained composed in high-pressure sequences. Sedona consistently controlled momentum and separated herself with her offensive efficiency and all-around scoring presence. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

saw her touch height climb from 10’3 to 10’7 in just a few weeks of focused training. Working with Maria Wolfe gave her the structure to push beyond limits, and she has set her next goal at 10’9 by the end of her sophomore year. Janiah first touched 10 feet during 13U tryouts, a moment she described as unforgettable because “everyone was so excited so that made me excited that it was a big deal.” Now, her ability to attack from a higher contact point has changed how she plays the game. “It gives me a bigger hitting window, and the sets do not have to be perfect in order for me to be successful,” she explained, showcasing how her vertical makes her a threat in any situation. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

, a 2028 outside hitter from Forza1 North 17ONE, left NTDP with a stronger ability to attack zone eight and create disruption for opposing defenses. “I will use it to break down the other team’s defense and to cause as much chaos as I can,” she said.
The pillar of Craft had the biggest impact on Janiah. “I learned that building more on your craft can help break down the other team’s defense and find holes to score,” she explained.
She found inspiration in watching libero Ansley Shafer Ansley Shafer 5'4" | DS TX command the court. “She was all over the place and when she was on the court, the ball almost never dropped,” Janiah said. “It helped me realize how if I can do that, my value will be just as big in the back row as it is in the front row.”
Among the coaching staff, Erica Stahl from Central Michigan made a lasting impression. “She told me when I passed to always hold my platform for as long as I can after I passed to ensure great angles,” Janiah shared.

, a standout athlete from the class of 2028, shared her perspective on managing the demands of volleyball alongside her social life. For Janiah, the commitment to volleyball comes first. She explains, “My volleyball commitments come first to my social life in order for me to have success and meet my goals of playing at the highest level. My friends all understand, and I find time to hang out with them on my rest days.”
Janiah’s experience at the NTDP included a powerful body positivity session, prompting her to reflect on her identity outside of volleyball. “We were discussing who we would all be if we didn’t play volleyball, and that really led me to think about my life outside of the sport. I’m going to try to do more things outside of volleyball while still keeping my goals in the forefront.” – Michelle Bamford @ PrepDig
