Ana’s addition to the Prep Dig California Class of 2028 State Ranking List will surprise no one who watched her earn an award at the Durango Fall Classic, where scouts walked away talking about her. At 5’10”, she is a libero with a hitter’s frame and that length lets her pass balls through her midline that would pull most players off their platforms. Her hands come from real setter training and they are some of the cleanest you will find on a defensive player anywhere in California or the nation for that matter. Ask her to set from deep in the court and the ball still arrives hittable. Defensively, she plays low in her base, reads the attacker’s approach angle, and keeps every ball up and high instead of firing it back over. Her energy is constant and never dips with the score. Utah found a rare libero who can also run an offense. Please help us congratulate her on earning this well deserved recognition.

Ana Laverty Ana Laverty 5'10" | DS/L/S Cathedral Catholic | 2028 State CA highlighted the energy she brings to the game as a defining part of her identity. She shared that her personal goal is to show up with confidence every match while ensuring her positivity is visible regardless of the score. That reliability makes her a trusted teammate and a steadying presence on the court.

“No matter the score or my attitude I’ll always bring energy and positivity,” Laverty said. She sees her role as being someone teammates can look to for encouragement in pressure situations. Cathedral Catholic finished tied for 15th at Durango. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247
