This has been the second time her name has been highlighted. Paramount Maureen won the first set against Alliance 25-17 but lost the second 22-25. For Paramount , they have yet to lose a match, but they have gone three sets in two matches. However, their third three set match was the most harrowing.

Alliance built up a three point lead 9-12. Paramount pulled to within one 11-12 on a Megan Elder Megan Elder 6'1" | MB Poolesville | 2028 State VA middle hit and an ace serve from Anna Dierks Anna Dierks 5'10" | S West Springfield | 2027 State VA . Each team exchange kills with Alliance building a 14-12 lead. A serve in the net gave Paramount the serve back.

Giuliana hammered a quick tempo set from the middle position tying the set at 14-14. Behind again 15-16 Giuliana came through with another quick tempo kill from the middle position to tie it at 16-16. A Paramount hitting error dropped them down by one again. An Alliance serve in the net and two hits that travelled out gave Paramount the 19-17 win.

They would go on to win the crossover 25-23, 25-23. However, without those two clutch kills from Giuliana Paramount would have played a stronger opponent in their crossover match in order to reach the gold bracket.

In the match I watched Giuliana was dominating at both the offensive game with her quick tempo kills as well as the defensive game with her blocks. At 6’3″ she is a presence at the net. Currently ranked at number 33 in our class of 2028 however after her play at this tournament that could go even higher.

As a result of her consistent play all year Paramount was a top seed in their pool. They held court finishing undefeated. Paramount earns the top seed in their pool with Alliance and SIVBC Thunder.

Another one of those middles with great length. In addition to the length there is some athleticism in her movements allowing her to glide from pin to pin. Her approach jump is 9’9″.

For Lightridge she led the team in kills while also finishing second in blocks. It was a decent regular season for Lightfidge but ultimately they lost in the first round of the Regionals to Potomac Falls.

For Giuliana all she has to do is cover an area of the court with her block. The libero and defensive specialist can cover the remaining acrage.

Giuliana moved from 49 to 33 in our class of 2028 rankings. Of those rising in or into the Top 50 that is the highest movement for this ranking update.
