AAU Nationals Update

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>15 Open</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='430852' first='Tri-State' last='Elite'] earned a 5th place finish at the recent AAU championships after going 8-3 in the event. This is a group that has competed well all club season on the backs of some of the best 2027 prospects in all of Ohio. Middles <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='434971' first='Jillian' last='Forrest']</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480837' first='Charley' last='Moeddel']</strong> provided some of the best athleticism on the this team and created a big presence on both sides of the ball over the past few months. Forrest (*pictured) was one of the best middle arms in this age group as it is impressive the way she can elevate and swing with big range and pace. It will be fun to see Forrest and Moeddel across the net from one another as their prep careers progress in the GGCL with Forrest competing for Ursuline and Moeddel at Seton, two of the best Division I programs in the state. <strong>Pyper Russell</strong>, a 2026 middle, joined this team for this AAU event and contributed well at times with her 6'0 length. On the pins point scoring was earned through the arms of 6'0 <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480821' first='Maisie' last='Jones']</strong> along with <strong>Aylah Belding </strong>(Indiana) and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='480838' first='Makenna' last='Meibers']</strong>. One of the prospects we are very excited about is 2028 setter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='582224' first='Penelope' last='Reisman']</strong>. At 5'11, she has size and with consistency in her development, effort, and impact that has her poised to be a highly ranked prospect in her class as her prep careers moves forward.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>16 Open </em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Mintonette's top-seeded m.61 team remains unbeaten, without dropping a set, after two days of competition. They enter into Sunday (6/22) play scheduled to face Kokoro, FaR Out, and SynergyForce with a spot in the Gold bracket on the line. Entering this event came on the heels of the 2026 class beginning to announce commitments to the next level. This is a squad to watch as they advance through their club careers as they have some good depth of quality talent around the court.
