Under Armour Invite-Only Camp: Top California Freshmen Setters

The Under Armour Next Invite-Only Camp Series offers unparalleled exposure and the chance to earn the coveted Golden Ticket to play in the All-America game in Orlando, FL—an event that I have <a href="https://prepdig.com/2024/01/ua-next-all-america-game-recap/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">covered</a> which is truly one of a kind.    Prepdig was granted exclusive access to the invite-only Las Vegas camp, held following the 16U and 17U 2024 USAV Girls Junior National Championships. This camp differed from the prior <a href="https://prepdig.com/2024/02/ua-next-kansas-city-camp/">Kansas City Camp</a>, which took place before the Triple Crown tournament. Witnessing the drills, pace, and competition at this camp, you could distinctly feel and hear the difference between athletes who participated prior to high-level competition and those performing post-tournament. These freshmen are entering a pivotal year for recruitment, their sophomore year, when college coaches can officially contact them after June 15. However, it is well known that recruiting an athlete of this caliber begins long before then. The invitation to this camp is a testament to their hard work and dedication on the circuit, offering them an unparalleled opportunity for exposure. As a standout freshman setter, Lucky exudes confidence in her skills and consistently performs at a high level. Her natural flow in setting keeps the game rolling smoothly, showcasing her quick athleticism through seamless movement and elegant sets. Her connection with hitters is impeccable, creating a dynamic offense that's hard to defend. But Lucky is not just a setter; she is a versatile player who excels in any position she is placed in.   Following the camp, Lucky led her team, MIZ LB 15 Rockstar to a 5th place finish in the USAV GJNC 15s Open division. She skillfully orchestrated her offense, delivering graceful sets for Nebraska-bound <a href="https://prepdig.com/player/manaia-ogbechie/">Manaia' Ogbechie</a> and UCLA commit <a href="https://prepdig.com/player/eliana-urzua/">Eliana' Urzua</a> all club season long.   Anya's performance today showcased her beautiful fundamentals and technical prowess. Her hands demonstrated strength and precision, consistently providing spot-on placements. Although she will be taking her talents to Texas to play with the renowned Madfrog club, college coaches would be wise to add Anya to their early recruitment lists, as she continues to develop into an exceptional player. Her connection with the ball is impeccable, allowing her to establish strong rapport with hitters, even those she's just started working with. Following the UA Next Camp, Piper guided her team to a podium finish, claiming 3rd place at the USAV GJNC 15s Open division. College coaches should prioritize adding this standout setter to the top of their considerations for Division 1 recruitment, given her outstanding abilities and potential for further growth.
