Thomspon is a tall, smart and powerful setter who can play on the pin and bang the ball. She knows which hitters are on, who she needs to set for big points and where other players are on the opposite side of the net. She fingers are light and bouncy with her release being fast and in tempo.

Thompson is a fast setter, tracking down balls with her eyes before she makes an appropriate move to set. She works hard to run an offense and can swing on the ball if needed.

Thompson, a sophomore setter for Mountainside, is very smart with her sets, knowing who to set and when to challenge the opposing side. She sees the court in its entirety, allowing her to run her offense efficiently and fast.

Thompson has spent the entirety of her career as a middle blocker, but this high school season, she stepped outside of her comfort zone and gained expereience attacking on the pins and setting. As an attacker, her impressive vertical leap and strong court vision make her a terminal threat at the net. During position work at the showcase, she joined the setters, as she’s hoping to transition to this role more permanently. With natural setting hands and an incredible amount of athleticism, Thompson has the potential to make a smooth transition to setting during the upcoming club season. Her adaptability and skill set make her a player to watch as she continues to evolve and refine her game.
