About Anabelle
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I would describe my gameplay style as one that is very intense but brings a lot of energy. As a hyper competitive athlete, I lead by intensity and pushing myself along with the others around me to be their best. However, I love celebrating my teammates successes and I’m very loud on the court.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’m a very goal oriented person so I am always looking to see what’s next or asking “how can I be better?” I look at comparison as a mental block that will only hold me back, so I focus on controlling the things that I can control (energy, effort, etc).
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I earned an award in the 8th grade for being a part of the National Junior Honor Society, and I look forward to taking part in the high school level of this when that opportunity opens up. Additionally, I volunteer as a student coach for the recreational youth teams in our community.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I’ve had to learn how to lead without being acting like a boss. This means being encouraging and a good teammate, but letting my coach do the coaching of others. Also, I have learned teamwork through being a part of many different team dynamics, where working with different people is necessary. I’ve learned how to effectively communicate and be confident in the athlete that I am.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Thankfully, I have not faced many trials in my life. However, when I do face trials, I know that God is in control and I can surrender my struggles to Him.
What type of college are you looking for?
I’m looking for a school that provides intense competition on the court/in the gym, and one that will challenge me in the classroom. I want to major in nutrition, so finding a school with a strong program for this is very important.
