Aubriana Bumpass wants to be the player her teammates look toward when the match becomes uncomfortable. While she takes pride in her athleticism and offensive ability, she believes trust is earned through consistency, communication, and the confidence to keep competing regardless of the score. She wants every teammate to know they can depend on her to bring positive energy and steady leadership, especially when momentum begins to shift.

That mindset has also influenced the areas she’s working to improve. Rather than focusing on one isolated skill, Bumpass is committed to becoming a more complete player who contributes in every rotation and continues making smart decisions under pressure. More than any individual statistic, she hopes coaches remember an athlete who competed with purpose, encouraged those around her, and never allowed adversity to change the way she led her team.

Known for her other-world athleticism, Aubriana can do just about every skill well on the volleyball court AND the softball diamond. Being as springy as she is, she’s best used on the right side, where she can out-quick and out jump any and all opponents that aren’t ready for her. Willing to play wherever you need her to, she spent her most recent showcase doing everything any attacker can do—-and more. When you’re THIS athletic, doing everything is an easy task.

A multisport star (softball being the other), Aubriana can do a little of everything on the court, and at multiple positions as well. Even in our Freshman Showcase, she asked for extra reps in different positions, just so she could see where she stood among others in her class. I don’t recall such a well-rounded athlete being able to do multiple positions at a high level, yet Miss Bumpass does it with ease. Her footwork and athleticism gets her to every pass, good or bad, and her ability to jump well with a quick arm swing proves my statement above on the attack. I’ll put her as setter for now, but knowing we could easily add ‘RS’ to the position profile would not be a stretch.
