To start off, Lincoln Northwest Falcons ended the season with a 9-26 record, but saw a vast improvement from last year. Next they had a mini win streak which started off by knocking off #4 Elkhorn North at the EMC Tournament, then beating Hastings and Beatrice. Class of 2026 Crete transfer [player_tooltip player_id='349476' first='Lauren' last='Eggerling'] provided a huge spark for the Falcons on the pin. Eggerling racked up 252 kills, 230 digs and chipped in 45 aces this past season. She was definitely the leader and the go to this past season. She does a great job of finding shots and providing leadership for her team.

Fellow junior Middle Alivia Clemmons also saw a lot of growth from the past year. Clemmons hammered 151 kills and 60 total blocks out of the middle for the Falcons. She has a fast arm and can jump out of the gym. Sophomore setter Savannah Martin also returns after having a team high 49 ace serves and 524 set assists. Having these returning players for next season will be huge to build around for Head Coach Whitney Roth.

Beatrice lost in the subdistrict final to Norris after knocking off Lincoln Northwest in 4 sets. 5'9” Sophomore Londyn Meints hammered 278 kills, and 283 digs for the Lady Orange this past season. Meints has a great swing and is really athletic. They looked for her to take the big swings for a fast side out. To go along with the big swings, Meints also has a nice serve. 5'9” Senior Brooklyn Shafer had 46 ace serves and racked up 181 kills in her final campaign. She has a great arm swing and an aggressive attack. Shafer also has great body control at the net and can make something out of an out of system ball or tight set.

Seward had a veteran squad this year and just missed the State Tourney by falling 3-0 to Lincoln Pius X in District Finals. 5'8” Junior Middle [player_tooltip player_id='771602' first='Karsyn' last='Fields'] nearly tripled her kill total from her sophomore year to 157 kills and had a total of 46 blocks. Fields does a great job of having a high contact point and finding the open court. 5'8” Sophomore Outside [player_tooltip player_id='575165' first='Jackie' last='Eberspacher'] had 148 kills this past season and 38 ace serves. Eberspacher is a strong, physical outside who can power through the block. With a lot of firepower lost to graduation this spring, look for her to be a huge part of the offense to build around next fall.

Platteview lost in the District Final to Elkhorn North in 3 close sets. [player_tooltip player_id='257188' first='Brooklyn' last='Stehlik'] led the Trojans this past season with 259 kills, 45 ace serves, and 248 digs. The junior is really athletic and is a great leader on the floor. The Trojans will look to build around Stehlik as she has a lot of experience and firepower at the net. Sophomore Libero [player_tooltip player_id='521192' first='Maddy' last='Stukenholtz'] had a great season as well. The libero totaled 346 digs and 30 ace serves for the Trojans. She is a strong serve receive passer and does a great job of using angles to pass dimes. Stukenholtz has a great short serve that can put people out of system quickly.

Standing Bear closed out its inaugural varsity season this past fall. Freshman Outside [player_tooltip player_id='737394' first='Sydnie' last='Cain'] led the Grizzlies with 369 kills, averaging 3.7 kills per set. The Grizzlies looked to her for her leadership and maturity on the floor. She is long, athletic and has a fast arm swing. Sophomore Outside [player_tooltip player_id='521265' first='Jayda' last='Engelbart'] hammered 259 kills. In addition to her net play, she accumulated 280 digs and 35 aces this past season. The Grizzlies were young this past season but look to them to be much more improved this next fall.
