2025 Rankings: Impact Pins

Athletes in the Class of 2025 have made their mark playing at a very high level. The pin hitters in the class have been a large part of that. There are solid six rotation attackers that will be heading to some of the biggest conferences in the country. Here are just some of the impactful pin hitters of the class of 2025.    Hanover puts up a big block in front of opposing attackers. She is a lefty with a high contact point. Hanover makes solid contact on the ball and speeds up her swing to make contact before the opposing block.     Horan takes a fast swing down the line for a point. She is long and has a high contact point. Horan is smart and crafty with a deep roll down the line. She also doesn't hesitate to work off the outside hands of the block or take a big swing and bounce it off the setter's head.     Johnson consistently showed off her ability to work through an opposing block. She plays much bigger than her 5'7 frame. Johnson has solid defense, serve receive to go along with her offensive game. She's a talented athlete to keep an eye on.     Adler has played a lot both in the middle and on the right side. She has such a high reach and contact point that she will make a lot of game changing plays. I really love how Adler has developed throughout her prep career.     Salvevold does a nice job finding the high hands left by the block. She sets up a strong block early for her defense to ser up around and her middle to close. Salvevold does a great job working outside of the opposing block.     Larson has this ability to smoke the ball down the line. She is an explosive and powerful pin who can also put up a strong block. Larson is aggressive in her approach and swing on the ball.     Purrington sets a nice block on the slide attack. She plays a solid middle back defense and if you leave her on an open net, she will not hesitate to smoke the ball. Purrington is explosive and powerful and she can terminate from either pin.     Gilk has ALL the shots in the book. She has a sneaky tip that goes just over the block. Gilk is super athletic and smooth from pass to attack. Keep your eye out for her competing as a Gopher in 2025.     McClary uses a fast swing on the ball to expose a split in the block. She sets up a monster block and knows how to control her space at the net. McClary is explosive and powerful and I wish I had known about her sooner!     Belfield is an outside hitter who packs a serious punch and you really don't want to get in the way of her attack. She hits with a heavy arm and a high, powerful snap on the ball. Belfield is incredibly aggressive and she has good court awareness and timing to help her generate points.     Wuickhujse caught my attention this fall with a series of really smart plays at the net. Sometimes you can teach the strategy of the game but sometimes there are just natural survivalist that fight like no one else. Wuickhujse just gets it and will be high level player.     Swenson hits the deep 5 from the backrow so seamlessly you'd think she practices in her sleep. She has a lot of length and a long reach to get the ball. Swenson does a nice job of utilizing that and hitting over the block when able.     Carr is an explosive pin hitter who can get the job done. I always felt like she was coming out of nowhere when I least expected it and BAM! Carr could even have been dubbed a secret weapon for [program_tooltip program_id='430430' first='Lakeville' last='South'] this season. I'm excited to see what she can do at Seton Hall in 2025.     Faris has been a staple for Minneota the past few years. She was playing some middle and then she would slide over to the right side. Faris is definitely a natural on the right side and she is down right explosive. She is so springy on the right side and knows how to play solid defense. Faris will crush the ball if you give her any space and at the state tournament she was relentlessly demolishing the line.     Ness is really positive and chatty with her teammates. I love a good communicator. She also has a killer deep push down the line that lands right in the corner.     Koester takes a really fast swing on the ball that puts defenders on their heels. She is an explosive attacker with a great vertical and powerful swing. Koester clearly has a gym-rat mentality and she has worked hard to be the all-around player she is today.     Tufto sets a strong block that her blockers can close and her defenders can work around. She does a great job of pressing and sealing the net to prevent any attacks from getting through. Her serve creates a lot of issues for the opposing serve receive as she makes the ball dance.     Hacker has a nice high contact when she reaches to attack the ball. She also has a great thumb down finish to direct the ball down the line for a kill. Hacker sets a strong block and keeps a confident demeanor at the net.     Foslien is an attacker that would take her team and put them on her shoulders to get through a match. She was making it very clear that any block put in front of her at the State Tournament would get used. And not only used but she was scorching the edges of those blocks to score points.     Strege is a really athletic player and I would assume she is one of those small school super athletes that does it all. She moves so well and takes a really hard swing on the ball. Strege was a key along with [player_tooltip player_id='227878' first='Kaydence' last='White'] to KCC's high-powered offense.     Buhr sees the block really well and makes sure to work off the edges to score points. I really enjoy the play they would run where Buhr would come flying into the middle and find an opening. She is a really solid athlete that makes big plays for her team.     Lillquist does a great job speeding up her armswing in order to beat the block. She can power through the block with a heavy arm or find the cross court corner for a big point. Lillquist is a big swing for Sebeka and her presence with definitely be missed on their 2025 roster.     Pulji doesn't hesitate to take a hard swing down the line. I love her aggressive swing even when it is a higher risk. Pulji knows just how to paint the corner and I'll bet she didn't get good at it by playing it safe.     Lilly can pack a solid punch. She can also use smart shots, natural length, and vertical to score when in or out of system. Lilly does a nice job getting her feet to the ball and making the best of every set she's given.
