Here we are at the third of four updated class rankings, and the biggest year for us recruiting-wise is the sophomore season. By the end of the school year, commitments will be earned and kids that weren't on our radar will be pinging away at us mercilessly, and us wondering why we didn't think of them in the first place. Here are five athletes, since the last update, who have raised their stock the most in the class of '27.

A no-doubt, high-rising, terminating middle has ascended to the top of our list for the class of '27. When you earn a roster spot with the Samurai (an 18s team) as a sophomore, you've truly earned it. Arguably the top recruit in the midwest in this class, Carsyn is a can't-miss prospect that is a Power Four recruit, and one of the best middles to come out of Indiana in quite some time.

Showing up and showing out at our recent Top 250 Expo, Luca hits a heavy ball to all angles and is a big time six-rotation star in the making. I like her ability to hit with pace as well as with finesse when needed, which pairs nicely with her ability to pass and play defense. One of the better well-rounded outsides in this class, Luca should be garnering a ton of attention this spring.

The only class of '27 kid on Metro's 17-1, Paige is a physical pin attacker who has six rotations written all over her future. Able to quickly transition from serve receive to attack in a hurry, Paige also knows the work ethic and resiliency to stay successful, as evidenced by her time with southern Indiana's top 4A team.

Yet another of a long line of DS and libero prospects to come out of Yorktown, Vivian recently earned an All-Star nod from us at the Top 250 Expo less than two weeks ago. Her feet constantly move while her platform is stable, and is rarely caught out of position prior to contact. I like the consistency and no-nonsense attitude she brings to the passing skill, and should compete for the libero jersey on the Mustangs (16-1) this spring.

Moving a mile a minute and constantly ready to take every ball within ten feet of her, Addie is an excpetional example of how a libero should play. Constant communication and always locked in defensively, Miss Doak is regularly around the first ball. Most likely becoming the libero on Boiler Juniors' 16-1 (Gold) squad, I am really interested in seeing how an open-level schedule suits her.
