Opposing teams have to know when Grace Hoverson Grace Hoverson 6'2" | MB/RS Evansville | 2028 State WI is in the front row.  The 6’2 middle blocker who plays for Madtown 161 National has a lot of length and strength where she is very imposing for her opponents.  She can also score in a variety of ways where she can find the deep corners or score off a one foot approach.  Her skillset will be really exciting for coaches at the next level.  Madtown has had success with athletes heading to the Summit League where plenty of those coaches will be there to recruit this upcoming weekend. 

Grace is ranked number one in her class for a reason. She brings serious firepower to every swing, consistently finding ways to score by going around or right over the block. Her quickness and athleticism make her a force in transition, and defensively she can cover the entire net while putting up a solid block. Grace proved once again why she’s such a dominant presence in the middle.

Hoverson is a rare gem of a middle to find at 15 years old. She is tall, has great court awareness, and is super quick which allows her to be a stud on both offense and defense. On defense, I think Hoverson led the 15 open division in blocks today. She reads the opposing teams well, moves quickly, and gets her hands in position to close blocks and stop attackers in their tracks. On the flip side, she is also a force to reckoned with on offense. She reads the block in front her, can adjust her shot, and uses that great court awareness to hit the open spots on the court.

Every time I have seen Grace play she, has absolutely wowed me. Her volleyball IQ out of the middle is amazing to see. She never misses a beat. From her block to her transition and her offense, Grace is dynamic, aggressive, and efficient. Grace has the makings of a fantastic middle. She is fast, athletic, and explosive. Her form and discipline ensure she is always locked in and ready to engage at any moment.

Grace was unstoppable over President’s Day at Sports Performance. Offensively, she was just ripping balls for points, seemingly at her will. She showed her talent both in front of and behind the setter. Grace’s setter was finding her on offense any opportunity she could. Her consistent contact and disciplined footwork helped her achieve the power and angle of her swings.

Hoverson is a 6’2″ middle that is a force at the net. With fast footwork and a good read on the ball, Hoverson routinely transitions quickly in order to put up a quick block in the middle and close blocks on the pins. Hoverson is also highly effective on the offense end. She can unload lethal attacks from both pins and out of the middle.
