We mentioned it in our introductory feature: showcase standouts have made their mark on our first Nebraska 2028 watch list.

Our scouting report with the 2028s is still limited. So far, we're limited to one high school season and a pair of showcases. With such a small sample size, those showcases have played a big part in forming our initial list.

That means we can peruse our new group of 2028s to find some showcase alums to know heading into 2025. We have no shortage of good options for this one.

Brisson was one of many dynamic 2028 pin hitters on our showcase slate. The Elkhorn South prep athlete hits with exceptional range and established herself as a go-to opposite in the Nebraska Elite gym. Brisson has a knack for finding open seams in the opposing block, especially if she's given an attacking window down the line. Last year's top 15s group for Nebraska Elite set a high bar, but Brisson's physical style could help her squad replicate that success.

Omaha Skutt Catholic was well represented at last year's La Vista showcases. Callahan made an instant impression among the 2028s and was a terminal force on both pins. This is a name to keep in mind as we pivot toward the club season, as Callahan will represent a Premier Nebraska 15 Gold squad with plenty of potential. Aside from leaning on Callahan's quick right arm, 15 Gold will also be eager to wield this pin hitter's sharp defensive skills in the middle-back area.

Minden High School has a bright future with its high-impact group of underclassmen. Cederburg saw some action as a freshman and took part in Minden's 2024 title triumph to give the Whippets two in a row. This middle blocker's influence is sure to expand after the Whippets graduate two outstanding seniors at the position. Cederburg's high contact point and transition attacking prowess were clear at our freshman showcase, and we're building a larger list of small-town stars for our watch list.

Few schools benefitted from talented 2028s more than Milford last fall. Cisneros was a staple in the Eagle lineup and finished with triple-digit digs in her debut season. That debut ended in the state tournament with Milford playing some of its best volleyball when it mattered most. Cisneros has now compiled some high-level experience to accompany her standout performance at our freshman showcase, and we'll watch her development continue with South Central NE.

Dostal will soon be a household name in the ever-competitive Omaha metro. She took command of Gretna's offense last fall and racked up three kills per set on the outside. It's easy to hone in on Dostal's high reach and explosive approach, but we've also been impressed with her ball-control skills in the back row. This is another weapon in Premier Nebraska 15 Gold's arsenal as this upstart group chases qualifier glory this spring.

Add another small-town impact player to the list. Hoff took the reins of Aurora's offense in her first season and racked up 7.4 assists per set for the Huskies. Her balanced distribution offered a big boost to the Aurora offense, and Hoff will continue to progress as she gains more experience. More of that valuable experience was gained on the Prep Dig Circuit, where Hoff demonstrated strong connections with her hitters in team drills.

Liebentritt was one of the most physical 2028s at last summer's showcase. She dominated the net during six-on-six action and exhibited her incredible contact point during positional drills. Liebentritt also has impressive lateral quickness for someone of her height, making her a shutdown blocker and a defensive asset. Premier Nebraska has another frontcourt game-changer at the 15s level.
