Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Coaches are always partial to left-side hitters with some six-rotation impact. That’s what Callahan has provided for her Premier Nebraska 16 Gold crew, and the results speak for themselves. This Omaha Skutt Catholic prep athlete rose to prominence during last year’s run to a GJNC title, but 2026 has already raised the bar further. Regardless of whether Callahan plays across the net, her passing and backcourt defense make her a mainstay in the 16 Gold lineup. Ball control was a huge factor in propelling Premier Nebraska to another coveted Open berth, so we’ll see Callahan spar with the nation’s best this postseason.

Callahan could be considered Premier Nebraska 16 Gold’s do-everything “wildcard” player. She has compiled an impressive highlight tape as an outside hitter, producing heavy crosscourt heat on the left side. However, Callahan has distinguished herself further as an elite defender who makes first touches look effortless. She absorbed tremendous service pressure at the Mideast Qualifier and set the stage for 16 Gold’s Open berth in Indianapolis. This summer’s return trip to the Hoosier State will be a big one.

Premier Nebraska 15 Gold’s roster is full of versatile frontcourt athletes, but Callahan’s influence is not limited to her net play. Indeed, this Omaha Skutt Catholic freshman has the range and court vision to be a lethal force on the left side. But we also can’t forget about Callahan’s poise in the backcourt, particularly as a middle-back defender. She produced some clutch digs along the end line and meshed well with any of her teammates in the back row. Six-rotation stars are already emerging in the Class of 2028.

Omaha Skutt Catholic was well represented at last year’s La Vista showcases. Callahan made an instant impression among the 2028s and was a terminal force on both pins. This is a name to keep in mind as we pivot toward the club season, as Callahan will represent a Premier Nebraska 15 Gold squad with plenty of potential. Aside from leaning on Callahan’s quick right arm, 15 Gold will also be eager to wield this pin hitter’s sharp defensive skills in the middle-back area.
