I am not sure why teams kept trying to serve toward her because her ball control was on point to say the least. This squad was always in system due to her amazing angles and soft contact with her platform to keep the ball on her side of the court. Time and time again she showed just how dangerous her game is with “three” passes to target. I didn't stat the games I watched but I would bet some hard earned money her passing average was well above a 2.4 for the entire tournament. She was able to take up a lot of space on the court and this allowed her front row attacker who was pulling back to focus mainly on a smaller zone of serve receive responsibility so that they were in a better position to transition to attack. This is part of the game that will not be recognized by any stat sheet, but it is an invaluable tool for a team to put themselves in a successful overall playing scheme.

Stella is currently ranked as the 11th best overall prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She plays volleyball at Torrey Pines High School and plays club for the WAVE volleyball program. Miss Delgadillo was super impressive for a few reasons. One aspect that I love is how fast she is on time for her quick attacks. She truly understands timing principles and is in between a zero and a one tempo almost every single attempt. It was telling in the championship match when they ran her multiple times in a row in a given rally and each time she connected very well and was not blocked at all. Her hitting percentage had to be well above a .500 for the matches I saw. This kind of efficiency out of the middle will keep opposing defenses honest and not able to cheat toward their awesome outside pins. Stella was super fast as she patrolled the net on the defensive side as well. All in all, she proved to be a very valuable member of this team and will help to keep them at the top of this age group all season long. The other aspect that truly impressed all that were in attendance was how she moved the ball around to both sides of the court around the opposing middle blocker that matched up with her. Very rarely did any blocker get to touch the ball as she sliced the ball by either staying completely open with her technique or over-rotated to turn on the ball. This young lady is dangerous and knows how to attack at a high level out of the middle.

This team has some big studs on their roster that need to be recognized for their hard work in helping them to win the entire tournament full of top-level talent. Outside hitters [player_tooltip player_id='467596' first='Jaycee' last='Mack'] and [player_tooltip player_id='500618' first='Ireland' last='Real'] are two can't miss recruits who are on everyone's short list of athletes to watch. I love how they both played all the way around in big matches and were legit threats to score even while in the back row. Jaycee's ball control and defense has been lights out as she has made the switch over to this position since last season. Her stock has definitely risen with her continued progress made as a full-time six-rotation pin. Ireland continues to do Ireland things at the net and scores at-will. By going 8-1 overall in matches at this prestigious tourney, WAVE truly showed the rest of the nation that they are one of the teams to beat in the age group.

Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes. If you have anyone you think we should watch out for, please shoot me an email with some info at Michael@prepdig.com. Also don't forget to help these kids get more exposure by sharing our stories with your friends. Help us help them by simply reposting on X or Instagram or sharing on Facebook. Thanks for following Prep Dig Family!
