I’ve scouted Liu in person throughout the last year or so. She’s worked hard to steadily improve and clearly was playing her best volleyball this spring. While she’s an undersized right-side hitter, she makes up for it with leaping ability and solid technique. Liu also plays within her skills and doesn’t try to make plays that aren’t there. It helps her limit mistakes and keep her teams in the point. Liu contributed 51 kills, 31 digs and 6.0 blocks as an Iowa City West sophomore in 2024, and this club season she’s positioned herself for much more as an 11th-grader.
