BRAVO 16s Teams Overview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The continued growth of this club team has led to the increased talent and interest in the Bowling Green area.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Black</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Several players from the defending 4th Region champion Bowling Green Purples grace this roster led by sophomore setter [player_tooltip player_id='741315' first='JoEllen' last='Marshall']. Sophomore middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='827008' first='Layah' last='Britt'] and junior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='850535' first='Madison' last='Taylor'] also saw a good bit of varsity action. The fourth Purple in sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='763869' first='Hayden' last='Price'] has played for both the Black and Red teams this spring.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Two Warren East sophomores in [player_tooltip player_id='785432' first='Mary' last='Grace Jackson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='771462' first='Caylie' last='Hoffman'] give the team a sound defensive specialist presence along with Greenwood sophomore Lauren Smith. Hoffman is the primary setter for Warren East.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Allen County-Scottsville junior [player_tooltip player_id='533363' first='Kaitlyn' last='Duncan'] also gives the team a nice outside option. Greenwood sophomore Audrey Wilson does the same thing outside and Greenwood sophomore Sadie Turpin gives the team a presence in the middle.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team is 29-14 on the season and is under the guidance of Daniel Shipley.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Red</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This team consists of a number of up and coming players starting with South Warren sophomore setter/defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='771466' first='Brintley' last='Frint'] and Hart County sophomore setter/defensive specialist [player_tooltip player_id='603409' first='Linlee' last='Smith']. Smith mainly plays defensive specialist for this team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>South Warren sophomore Nadira Hrvacic and Greenwood sophomore Keeley Hatcher give the team nice first passes. Then the likes of Bowling Green sophomore Spencer Vincent, South Warren sophomore Ella Dadanovic and South Warren sophomore Ana Vujnovic hit balls down from the outside and Greenwood sophomore Alex Knight does the same thing in the middle.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lisa Ross is the team's head coach. Green County freshman Dayni Coffey, South Warren sophomore defensive specialist Neely Turner and Greenwood sophomore Kailey Keown help with first touches.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>South Warren sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='851363' first='Arayah' last='Fuller'] and Warren East sophomore Madalyn Lee either set or hit from the outside. Allen County-Scottsville sophomore Alex Walker hits from both the middle and the pins with South Warren freshman Katelyn Moxley hitting from the outside. Warren East junior Kenzie Stunson hits from the outside if not playing defensive specialist. Duncan does a good job making mid-air adjustments. She puts down overpassed balls quick. Duncan is also a solid passer. Hoffman excels at both roles consistently making good first touches. She also backs up plays well. Hoffman mixes up her sets for the Raiders, getting a number of teammates involved. Johnson makes sound first passes then quickly transitions to offense. She does a great job placing balls away from strong defenders. She can even hit balls off blockers for big points. Johnson is not afraid to take swings from the back row when needed.
