2028 Rankings Debut: 11-20

The first ranking of a class is always the toughest. With thousands of players in a class, a couple of scouts, and feedback from trusted sources, it's always a challenge to identify not only players who should be ranked but also where they should be ranked. This is our 2028 debut. As in all rankings, there are things we get right, things we get wrong, and players who are missed. Between watching players live and watching countless hours of game film and highlight reels, we have a starting point. A reminder we issue with each ranking, it's based on college potential at the next level, not just the present. Expect a lot of movement over the next few years, but for now, let's introduce you to the prospects we have ranked from 11-20. This class features a talented class of setters.    Jordan is one of many talented setters in this class. In fact, club teammate [player_tooltip player_id='635415' first='Grace' last='Engeman'] isn't too far behind. Jordan stepped in and played a key role in helping a consistently top program go deep into the postseason. She is a high-IQ leader with good hands and ball placement.     The 6'2" right side has displayed a high level of play this club season for her Dynasty club. She can score all over the court and puts up a strong block in the front row. She made her presence known during her first high school season with 261 kills.     Omoike is a player who has potential due to her athletic and playmaking ability. She is a high-flyer who gets off the ground quickly and has a fast arm swing. She has played primarily in the middle but has taken some swings on the pin, which could be a better positional fit for her in the long run. She played in every set as a freshman for a Platte County team that finished fourth in the state and finished second on the team in kills.     We mentioned Engeman earlier as one of the two talented setters on the Mavs KC squad. She is a fierce competitor who earned all-state honors in her freshman season. She makes good decisions in her sets and also plays well defensively at the right back.     In this class, we have many talented defenders not separated by much in their play. Buttrum stood out in the matches I watched with her tenacity and toughness. She sacrifices her body to get touches on balls and brings a lot of energy to the floor.     The 6'0" southpaw brings a heavy punch from the right side and has a bright future in the sport. We were impressed with her court vision as an opposite, which leads to finding the openings on the floor. With her size, she is an asset in the block department.     Friedline stood out in the middle as a player who doesn't get outworked much. She makes herself available with her hustle to get off the net after a block attempt. She is quick off the ground and can spray the ball all over the court. She has good length and is a strong blocker. If needed, she can take quality swings behind the setter and from the right side.     The third setter in this bunch, Creed, is a leader on the floor and brings her A-game every match I saw her live this spring. She delivers good balls to her attackers from all over the court. In her freshman season at Nixa, she contributed in a two-setter system with just shy of 600 assists.     Kubik teams up with Creed during the high school and club season and benefits from those nice sets. Kubik falls into the category of a power pin. She brings a heavy punch behind her swings. Kubik shows she can pass the ball in serve-receive. An area of her game I like over many in this age group is her swings at out-of-system balls. She excels at staying behind the ball and getting an effective swing.     Grothe is the second defender in the group and one of the top in the class. She brings a lot of fire to the back row and can be found all over the court, keeping the floor clean and covering her hitters. She is strong in the passing game and dangerous behind the service line.
