Piper Peterson plays on a completely different level compared to most freshmen. She has a drive like no other, and you can just tell she’s one of the hardest workers in the gym. I was impressed with the maturity that she brought into her gameplay. She made great connections with the ball and was able to find every line on the court. Peterson already has a crazy amount of speed, power, and range as a freshman. It will be extremely fun watching her continue to grow as an athlete over the next few years. If she continues to keep this drive, she is going to be a big weapon for Assumption not only this season, but for many seasons to follow.

Peterson is a prospect poised to leave her mark on the state volleyball scene. The incoming Assumption middle hitter was a key member of the Iowa Select 14U team that won the USAV Iowa Regional and performed well at the national tournament. Peterson stands out for her athleticism, leaping ability and long arms. They’re coveted traits in the middle of the net. She flows well with the action and puts herself in position to make plays, whether that be putting the ball down with authority and denying the opposing attack. Peterson boasts a desirable combination for colleges of current success with a high ceiling.

What an exciting athlete.  Piper Peterson plays for Iowa Select 14 Mizuno where she was able to showcase multiple talents.  She was able to score across multiple front row positions as well as show some skills in the backrow as well.  Her athleticism shows she can be a dynamic scorer and will be one to watch from the Class of 2030. 

Iowa Select is next in the spotlight. Peterson was one of many middle-outside hybrid players at our event, making versatility a popular theme in Des Moines. It’s easy to hone in on an attacker’s terminal ability, but Peterson also brings the ball-control prowess to contribute in any rotation. Her development will be fascinating to follow when she steps up to Riverdale High School next fall.
