It's hard to believe we're four weeks into the ride, but here were are.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While teams will decide it on the court, predicting who they will be is a fun exercise, for me, and, hopefully, you. We love rankings!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'll be lining up teams in the state's second largest class, 4A, each Monday (or Tuesday) throughout the season. Here's how I see it heading into Week 6:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>1. Assumption</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Knights hold onto the top spot for a second week in a row. They started the week with a 3-1 MAC victory at ranked-5A, Bettendorf. They then ran the table at the Iowa City High quadrangular meet, topping 5A-ranked Liberty and City along with 2A-ranked Dike-New Hartford. I watched Assumption at City. The Knights are legit. Junior&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='694203' first='Belle' last='Cotton']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/belle-cotton/"></a>&nbsp;has collected 194 kills (.267) and added 131 digs in 57 sets. Freshmen&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='877691' first='Piper' last='Peterson']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/piper-peterson/"></a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='918791' first='Zoe' last='Cinadr']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/zoe-cinadr-4/"></a>&nbsp;have combined for 221 kills, Natalie Depoorter has 460 assists, [player_tooltip player_id='1037650' first='Taylor' last='Camarena']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/taylor-camarena/"></a>&nbsp;has 60 with 42.0 blocks.&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='742600' first='Piper' last='Hodge']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/piper-hodge/"></a>&nbsp;has piled up 295 digs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>2. Sioux Center</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Warriors hold at No 2 this week. They swept Rock Valley in a Siouxland Conference match during their only competition of the week. Despite five losses this season, Sioux Center is a formidable bunch continuing to mesh after graduation losses. The setbacks have occurred against strong competition. Facing a strong schedule helped it reach the Class 4A state title match last year.&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='816843' first='Maryn' last='Franken']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/maryn-franken/"></a>&nbsp;has collected 169 kills (.299) in 41 sets to go with 109 digs and 25.0 blocks so far this year.&nbsp;[player_tooltip player_id='841522' first='Adison' last='Brantsen']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/adison-brantsen/"></a>&nbsp;added 101 kills and picked up a team-best 132 digs. Jorgia VanDeBerg and Stella Hietbrink combined for 117 kills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>3. Norwalk</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Norwalk has bounced back from three losses in Week 1 and checks in third this week. The Warriors picked up a 3-1, Little Hawkeye win against Indianola last week. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='560368' first='Elle' last='Hatlevig'], a Michigan State commitment, has blitzed the competition to the tune of 311 kills (.412) in 55 sets. Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='493974' first='Hadley' last='Michael']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/hadley-michael-3/"></a> also has been excellent with team-highs in assists (532) and blocks (40.0), while ranking second in digs (126). Embry Dupont, [player_tooltip player_id='758781' first='Myla' last='Brown']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/myla-brown/"></a> and [player_tooltip player_id='730403' first='Delaynee' last='Steele']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/delaynee-steele/"></a> have teamed up for 273 kills, and [player_tooltip player_id='809159' first='Reese' last='Heim']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/reese-heim-2/"></a> 157 digs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>4. Western Dubuque</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Bobcats move up one spot to No. 4 this week despite its 3-0, MVC Conference loss to Class 5A-ranked Iowa City West last week. They compete closely with the Trojans and have built a 19-4 record with wins against Cedar Falls, Indianola, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Wilton and Wahlert, to name a few. [player_tooltip player_id='493984' first='Kyla' last='Ramler'], an Illinois State commitment, has recorded 225 kills (.275), 126 digs and 27.0 blocks in 58 sets. [player_tooltip player_id='987305' first='Ellie' last='Berning']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/ellie-berning/"></a> and [player_tooltip player_id='942755' first='Lauren' last='Walker']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/lauren-walker/"></a> have combined for 233 kills, Gabbie Demmer has 320 digs, and [player_tooltip player_id='748340' first='Lola' last='Quagliano']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/lola-quagliano/"></a> and [player_tooltip player_id='744976' first='Sylvia' last='Kruse']<a href="https://prepdig.com/player/sylvia-kruse/"></a> have teamed up for 515 assists.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>5. Clear Creek Amana</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Clippers check in at No. 5 this week at a point in the rankings where a group of teams with similar resumes resides. Despite a WaMaC setback against rival Williamsburg last week, CCA still owns a strong 4A resume with wins against Iowa City West and Bettendorf along with 2-1 losses to Liberty and Assumption.
