Who’s Next? Predicting The Next Commitments In The Class Of ‘27

We talked about a bunch of winners, but what about who's next? Next to commit, next to get all the publicity, next to be noticed….just NEXT. Here are five players from five different clubs that we're predicting are the next to receive a commitment from a school from the class of 2027.    Big and physical, Paige is a solid six-rotation option for any school looking for one. Her ability to perfect the pass-to-attack movements at her level of fluid is hard to teach, let alone master. Size is not an issue with her, as the length she shows is more than adequate to produce at the next level. As far as her training is concerned, she's getting some of the best in Indiana, and is used to high-leverage matches playing at Westfield, a dark horse favorite to win it all in 4A next fall.     Length for days and a knack for looking taller than she is, Miss Mays is the long and lean middle that can terminate from anywhere. Behind the setter, she's explosive, and uses her super long strides to drive to the ball. On anything in front of the setter she picks and chooses her angles, and takes what the defense gives her. I'd like to see a bit more width on her block, as she has a tendency to keep her hands narrow when pressing across. No big deal—-that's something she's learning in the training gym at Circle.     Springy, quick and smart, Caroline is an active, six-rotation outside that is next-level ready. She's been starring on Cathedral for a couple of seasons now, and has all the tools to be a serviceable, primary-passing outside. Although she looks narrow, the strength in her swinging shoulder is heavy, her block is consistent, and her lithe build is much stronger than she looks. Her stamina and conditioning are top notch as well—-she can shoulder the load of being a primary attacker at an open level, and makes it seem effortless.     Easily the most well-rounded of the remaining available recruits in the class of ‘27, Brooklyn has size, hops, a high volleyball IQ and the ability to take over a match because of all of those attributes I just listed. The ball she hits sneaks up on defenders and is tougher to dig because of the consistent pace she puts behind every swing. Able to hit hard line, sharp angle or just have a tool swing in hand, Miss Sigler is a primary-passing queen and tough to defend.     Speaking of big and physical, Audrey is probably the strongest of the bunch listed here today. More of an M2 because of her solid two-footed transition work, Miss Staggs can honestly terminate from anywhere in any tempo and in any slot along the net. Her size allows her to go over blocks, while her brute strength puts some weight behind the ball, making digging her even harder. Her combination of size and approach lead me to believe that she can be a middle OR a right side at the next level, and would be a steal for anyone looking for exactly that.
