Somehow, it is already six or so weeks into the season, and some teams are gaining serious momentum. Whether they are 18s who have been doing the qualifier circuit or teams who have been dominating the Badger Region Power League, these teams have rocked their early-season tournaments and have only continued to gain steam.

[program_tooltip program_id='431479' first='Wisconsin' last='Juniors'] 16-1 just won the 18 Elite Division of the Badger Region Power League. This team is powerful, consistent, and ruthless on the court. Their only losses in BRPL came to I AM Volleyball 17 Red, who they beat in 2 sets in the championship. They finished 3rd in 16 Open at Winter Classic where I had an opportunity to see them play in person. Charlotte Shepherd is a setter who is efficient and tough to read for the juniors. When I saw them at Winter Classic, I was wowed by the coverage libero Rebeca Arreola provided. Her serve receive, defense, and leadership were all on display and in top form. Shea Kelly is a player to watch on this team. She is a lefty right side who can consistently impact the game on both offense and defense. Shea and [player_tooltip player_id='918604' first='Scarlett' last='Olszowka'] were both named to the Badger Region Power League Watch List. Pin hitters [player_tooltip player_id='781411' first='Brynn' last='Skinner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='611353' first='Kinsley' last='Christensen-Bara'] are also huge offensive and defensive factors for this highly talented group. This team is headed to St. Louis for the President's Day Classic, where they will be competing in the open division.

This team has been nonstop this spring. They opened their season by winning the 17/18 Open Division of our Prep Dig Resolution Tournament, followed by a 1st-place finish at the Windy City Qualifier in the Liberty division. This team has an incredible amount of chemistry and grit and can never be counted out of a match. They simply never quit. Middles [player_tooltip player_id='245609' first='Delaney' last='Stapel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='726384' first='Adeleine' last='Catlin'] have been putting in huge work on the block and in quick transitions on offense. Six-rotation pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='277437' first='Olivia' last='Witon'] has been a consistent force and provides clean touches on serve receive. Fellow pin hitter Bella Daul has a great vertical and a toolbox of shots with great angles. Their defense relies on Gracie Fregein and [player_tooltip player_id='277439' first='Caroline' last='Abbott'], two athletes with extensive court experience and great chemistry, who cover and never let a ball drop.

Sting 17 Gold

Sting 17 Gold will be headed to NIT Triple Crown this weekend in a power pool. They won the Open Division of the Winter Classic, then placed 4th in Open at the Northern Lights Qualifier. This is a dynamic team in every sense of the word. They have power but are also incredibly strong on defense and serve receive. I have been so impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='809138' first='Peyton' last='Wollman'] at libero, who sets the entire team up for success with her leadership in the back row. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='483886' first='Ally' last='Schwab'] is an absolute powerhouse with a nearly unstoppable line shot. Fellow pin hitters [player_tooltip player_id='509328' first='Emma' last='Tenhagen'] and [player_tooltip player_id='509337' first='Ella' last='Peirick'] have also been huge contributors. [player_tooltip player_id='509343' first='Taylor' last='Wold'] has also been lights out. Her defense out of right back is next level. She is a highly talented setter, but what really sets her apart is her lethal serve and her fearless defense.

414 16 Elite

414 16 Elite won the Badger Region Power League 16 Elite Division. They also won the silver bracket of the 16 Open Division of the Winter Classic. An unfortunate 3-way tie bumped them into silver; however, they battled day 2 to win out the rest of the tournament. This team has so much talent in every position. Pin hitter [player_tooltip player_id='737776' first='Madelyn' last='Smith'] and middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='587074' first='Megan' last='Olsen'] were named to the BRPL Watch List. [player_tooltip player_id='792684' first='Brynn' last='Kuglitsch'] has been a rock in the back row for this team. On the pin, [player_tooltip player_id='805023' first='Cara' last='Blackford'] is a high-flying and explosive athlete who is aggressive and fearless with her swings. Setters [player_tooltip player_id='719623' first='Kendall' last='Frei'] and [player_tooltip player_id='788313' first='Isabelle' last='Green'] both feed their hitters and play gritty. This team is headed to St. Louis for the President's Day Classic this weekend and is sure to continue their dominant play.
