Ellie is another junior who I think is going to make a big impact in her final season. With Centennial graduating six, Ellie is going to help guide this team to a successful year. With Pollock quickly finding her footing as a six-rotation OH this past season, I’m hoping she can go into this upcoming season with a new level of confidence and leadership. Although the championship game might not have gone the way the Jaguars wanted, I was able to see how selfless Pollock truly played. No matter the score, she was making sure she was doing everything in her power to keep her team in the game. Whether it was her grit in the back row or her smart, fast thinking in the front row, she wasn’t going to give up, and she made sure her team didn’t either.

Pollack impressed me when I saw her during last year’s club campaign. She’s an explosive, quick-twitch athlete, which she proved again as a junior at Ankeny Centennial this past fall. In the Jaguars’ run to the Class 5A state title match, she produced 178 kills (.176), 245 digs and 37.0 blocks in 102 sets. Pollock shined again when scouting her at the 2026 Nike President’s Day Classic in St. Louis. She was competing with Impact 17-1 Elite, playing six rotations and covering a lot of the court. Pollock makes up for not being a six-footer on the outside by jumping out of the gym, putting together a technically-sound swing and generating a good amount of power. She’s smart and reads the defense well. Lateral quickness, smooth footwork and keen anticipation are the keys to back-row success.
