Who Took Care of Bidness: LSC 17Open

First weekend of Lonestar has come to a close and the competition did not disappoint. Three days full of wins and losses and very few finished when it counted. All 17s divisions competed for a trip to nationals in Houston this weekend so let's discuss who secured their spot. 17 Open division awarded 3 bids so we're going to start with our Champions from North Texas, TAV 17 Black Jon.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">TAV Champs</h2>    No stranger to our Prep Dig rankings, [player_tooltip player_id='518965' first='Sophee' last='Peterson'], #1 in class of 2027. She showed up and showed out at GRB in Houston this weekend. Distributing the ball well across the net in every game, encouraging her hitters to swing hard and swing big. Her serve was precise and controlled, starting most of her opposing teams out of system put her team up with a lead early in most games.     [player_tooltip player_id='534299' first='Brynn' last='Stephens'], 6 rotation outside for TAV, came with all the heat this weekend. She swung from the pin proving a point to every team that stood across the net. Her energy was big every play and her team followed in tow. Wherever she is on the court it is known that Brynn is a threat. She will swing big, block big, and hustle until the whistle. a true sight to see, and an evident key to her team's success.     [player_tooltip player_id='828292' first='Nyla' last='Livings'], another athlete who is not new to our radar. A Middle Blocker who protects the net. Her foot work is quick and efficient, she closes the block well, putting up a wall for her opponents. She transitions around every pass consistently making herself an offensive option. There is no denying her efforts and abilities are critical in keeping her team ahead.     [player_tooltip player_id='808007' first='Naomi' last='Livings'], an efficient Right Side hitter for TAV. Her defense fuels her play, putting up an incredible block for outsides across the net creates the timing needed for her teammates to transition and prepare for success. The teams plays well behind her touch, boosting the confidence and moral on the court. She swings hard and swings sure when a set comes her way. Her consistent play and strong block stand out and are a key contributor to her team.     Siene Ebert, Libero for TAV controls the back court for her team. In a game full of fast tempos, coaches want defenders that not only keep up, but thrive in the fast play, and Siena does that. Her ability to stay composed and read the ball consistently throughout a game is impressive. She passes with precision and intent, leaving her team's confidence high in finishing a play. Her energy and hustle follow her to the serving line where she continues her leadership from behind the net.     [player_tooltip player_id='807951' first='Vanessa' last='Glenn'], DS for TAV brings the defensive diversity to her team. She hustles for the ball and chases the out of system play to keep her team going. She stays on her feet and serves to ace. Working in tandem with her libero and setter, keeps the defense in rhythm all game long. She is a player confident in her role and willing to make the wild plays that keep her team going.
