Training at both a volleyball blue-blood high school and one of the best ball-control club programs in the country, Addison is a quick, smart and athletic setter that has a very high level of volleyball acuity. I like how she makes up for her smaller stature by showing off length and a max jump when getting a tight pass. Even in out-of-system passes, Miss Pierce finds ways to connect with her hitters and make a hittable ball be even better to score with. Her mere presence at our showcases has made the entire court better, and that goes to her long-standing training she’s received over the years.

Quiet, unassuming and all business, Miss Pierce is another of a long line of solid and consistent setters from Munciana. Lengthy beyond her 5’7″ frame, she used her long legs to get to a ton of out-of-system balls on Sunday, while also making those same rough passes good sets for her hitters, regardless of where they were. No, she didn’t stick out—and that’s the beauty of it. Addison is proof that setters don’t have to be flashy if you do your job at a high level.

Calm and unassuming, Addison played bigger than her 5’7″ frame might otherwise suggest. Getting to a ton of tight passes and making them hittable was her calling card throughout the drill section of the day. She also has deceptively long legs, allowing her footwork to get her easily to every ball regardless of where it’s passed. Location was never an issue either, leading me to believe that there’s a ton of training and reps under her belt over the past few years. Solid and consistent, Addison is a coach’s setter—coachable, hard-working and dependable.

Addison was the real standout for me on this Giraffes squad, playing all six rotations well and swinging effectively on the outside. She is listed as a setter everywhere, but she is one heck of an OH and the absolute go-to player of this team. Pierce has a solid pass to attack game, where she passes well from both sides of the court and swings away hard at the block. On defense, Addison is just as good if not better; she reads hitters really well and is able to pick up off speeds without hitting the floor. Lastly, Pierce sets really well when needed which is no surprise seeing as she is a setter too. I am really amazed at how well this young lady plays all facets of the game – she can pass, hit, set and play defense at a high level – most players her age does one or two skills well and that’s it; Addison does it all.
