Expert Analysis
Bob Abels | Prep Dig Scout
Allison spent her volleyball club season on the beach. She finished in fourth place in the 18 Open Junior National beach championship. As far as I know, that would be the highest ever finish by a Chesapeake team or player in a national championship event. The accomplishment earned her a ranking jump from number 40 to 32. Most important of all, she earned a commitment to play beach at Florida Atlantic.
When she plays indoor her libero play stands out. She moves quickly on the court and is automatic with her passing. She also brings a potent jump spin serve that accumulates aces.

First saw her play for North Stafford at the Colgan Jamboree and came away impressed with her libero play. She showed good hands for setting and brought an impressive jump spin serve that brought good velocity as it travelled over the net. Couldn’t really find her playing travel ball, but she spends her time on the beach. She seems to do very well there. Volleyball Magazine did a Fab 50 for the top beach players in the country and Allison was the only player from the DMV area to make the list.

Normally, I do not upgrade a player I have not seen play since the last ranking. However, Allison earned a ranking in the Fab 50 of beach prospects on the volleyballmag.com undergrad list. She was the only Virginia/Maryland player to make the list. She also has committed to play beach for Florida Atlantic. I did get to see her play at the Colgan Jamboree for North Stafford and she impressed me with her libero play, especially with the use of her hands for setting. She had setter’s hands. She also brought a powerful jump spin serve to the court that she probably also uses at the beach. For her libero play last year she earned a spot on the second team for the Class 6 Region. She also won firs team honors in the Commonwealth District. Allison rose from 78 to 40 in our class of 2025 rankings.
