About Alyssa

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

On the court, I am focused and determined. I am never afraid to go for a ball or try something new. A ball will not drop without me going for it! I play with lots of hustle, communication, energy, self-accountability, and accountability of my teammates, especially with intangibles such as effort or body language.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a strong competitive nature, which drives me to success, and my determination to improve all the time. In the classroom and on the court, I always give my best effort to get better at the task at hand. I like to ask questions and connect with all types of people, whether it be teachers, friends, coaches, peers, etc.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Working together as a team to win matches and tournaments allows me to be a leader by staying disciplined, holding myself and others accountable, maintaining a positive attitude and energy, and being able to calm the court. Volunteering at the Department of Child Services, I found a passion for helping my community, especially children in need.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school that will challenge me academically and athletically. Preferably medium-sized, around 5-15,000 undergrads, has strong student support systems, and is involved in the university and community.
