Jesse Etter | Prep Dig Scout
Mead has several excellent players in all the right places, a senior setter with great hands and experience, a senior libero to quarterback the defense and talented defenders and attackers on the pins. Durgan gave the Panthers a dominant force that few team could match up with in the middle. The 6’3 2025 University of San Diego commit loves to hammer the zero tempo set, and this season swings that may have paint brushed or just missed found the court for booming kills. She is a force as a blocker as well, and in the final versus Lake Washington slowed down a front line that had been rolling through the tournament. As the defense and serving of the Panthers became rock solid late season, Durgan posted monster numbers attacking off free balls and in controlled transition.

Durgan is a verbal commit to The University of San Diego, the dominant program in the West Coast Conference and a Final Four tournament team last season. The 6’3 Mead Panther led her team to a victory over an undefeated Gonzaga Prep squad Tuesday, handling the Bullpups in a 5 set battle. Durgan runs the quick attack at a furious tempo, and can hammer over or down the front of opposing blockers. She worked extremely hard closing the block pin to pin versus G-Prep, and tallied 6 blocks on the night. Mead is tough to stop when they are in system and Durgan is pounding down kills opening up lanes for the rest of her team.

The Mead High School standout was part of a twin towers rotation with senior Danikah Johnson this season. Durgan is powerful offensively, especially on quick tempo sets. She has a hard approach and a fast arm, she moves quickly on the court and her suddenness surprises the opposing blockers. She will be part of an excellent Renovators U17 team, where she will be paired once again with her Mead setter Brielle Wilson. Durgan should be the first and best option on offense.
