Edgington put together an incredible junior season in helping Dallas Center-Grimes reach the state tournament. She ranked just two kills off the team lead with 282 in 100 sets, adding 86 digs and 24.0 blocks. Edgington continued her ascent with a strong season for Roots Volleyball Academy. One of her best traits is the ability to play multiple positions. As a quick athlete with explosion and a strong vertical leap, Edgington can get on top of the ball from either pin. She shows a good feel for flowing with teammates and the action, getting into proper position to make plays. She’s done a nice job working on blocking and becoming more effective in that area. A college would do well to bring her on board.

The RVA gym is loaded with athletes like Edgington who can alter matches through craftiness and all-around prowess. We saw this trend play out at the Iowa Clash, and Edgington perpetuated the storyline last weekend. Her deadly roll shots helped RVA push the heavy hitters in the 17/18 Open division, especially in early pool play. Edgington’s high standing in the 2027 rankings is well earned.

Edgington impressed me with her play when a scouted her PowerPlex team a few times during the club season. On a loaded roster, she managed to make noise. That’s why it’s not surprising to see her excelling in school ball as a junior this fall. Edgington recorded 207 kills heading into the first week of October. She also chipped in 60 digs and 16.0 blocks, highlighting her skills as an all-around volleyball player. Edgington is an explosive athlete with leaping ability and hang time. She generates a good amount of power in her swing from both pins. Edgington has a lot more room to go before reaching her potential, which should be attractive to colleges.

Pin depth is clearly a strength at Iowa PowerPlex. Edgington is another PowerPlex outside hitter who stood out at last year’s Expo, and Edgington can operate on both pins and find success. She is also joining a stacked Dallas Center Grimes lineup that has brought several more showcase standouts to the spotlight in Des Moines. We’ll see which position takes precedence as Edgington continues to develop as a frontcourt weapon.

Waiting her turn while developing in one of the state’s top prep programs, Edgington looks this club season like someone itching for a bigger role in 2025. She took on a key part for PowerPlex this season, impacting matches from the opposite pin. Edgington also showed she can handle herself in the middle of the net. She’s a sound defender at both positions. Edgington’s attack is more consistent from the right side, where she reads defenses well and directs her attack where she finds an advantage.
