Rob Howe | Prep Dig Scout
While just a sophomore, Holtkamp stands out as a six-rotation presence at a solid 4A program. She showed that separates her from a lot of folks in the 2028 during an in-person scouting opportunity at the Westside Invite in Cedar Rapids on Oct. 11, 2025. Not blessed with exceptional height at the pin, Holtkamp makes up for it with explosiveness off of the court and an excellent vertical leap. She produces power in her swing and reads the defense well, which helps decisions on where to aim the attack. Holtkamp also offers potential in the back row with her ability to move laterally and by employing sharp reflexes. The skill set led to 119 kills and a team-best 214 digs through her first 76 sets of 2025.

As a freshman for a solid 4A squad, Holtkamp enjoyed the kind of success that could very well have been foreshadowing a bright future. She registered 129 kills, 48 digs and 12.0 blocks. I was impressed when I saw her at last year’s Benton tournament. Holtkamp has taken another step forward with IPVA this club campaign, setting her up for what could be a breakout sophomore year. She’s an excellent athlete with explosion off of the court, hang time and power in her attack. Her hang time allows her to read the openings in the defense and exploit them.
