About Avery

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Aggressive at the net especially when I'm blocking and I do my best to analyze the movements of the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I always look at the brighter side of things and love to hype up my teammates.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I was nominated for KSHAA Citizenship Award in May of 2024 and am a big contributor to my youth group. I'm in my school's audition choir, the Lakeside Singers that sang the National Anthem at a MLB game. I gained the Rookie award for track and field and lettered my freshman year. I'm in my school's FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)!

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've developed a sense of security in a way. Learning that if something goes wrong, there can always be a comeback.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes, in May of 2023 my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma in his sternum. This really hit me and my family hard but it's definitely getting better as he's almost done with treatment.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college with a fun atmosphere that I feel like I can have fun and be myself at but also be able to learn and focus effortlessly.
