brings a repeatable swing that holds up under pressure. She’s not rushed through her approach and maintains control on contact, even when the set isn’t ideal. I see her manage rallies well, keeping balls in play while still finding ways to score. She stays available in transition and continues to be a reliable option.
She doesn’t give away points, which adds value over the course of a match. Her consistency shows up in tight situations.

I have seen Stortz a few times as she is right in my own backyard. One of the things that I appreciate about her is that she is a fearless attacker who is not afraid to take big swings on every given opportunity. Clearly the go-to attacker on her team, she competes with confidence and does back down or play is safe. A true workhorse on the court, she is a player to watch as she continues to develop over the coming years.

Explosive, athletic, and efficient — Braylee Stortz has quickly become a go-to option in big moments. Her approach timing and vertical give her the ability to score over or around the block, and she’s fearless taking big swings in tight sets. Stortz’s off-speed range and court vision allow her to mix tempo and placement with maturity well beyond her years. She’s also a high-level server who applies pressure from the line. Stortz’s confidence and ability to finish points against upperclassmen show why she’s already making noise as a Class of 2030 standout. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

Stortz is another discovery for me at a small, school based tournament this spring. However, upon some further research, I see that she saw the varsity court as a 7th grader multiple times last fall. Stortz is an athletic player that can attack from both the pins and out of the middle. She has a high point of contact, moves quickly, and has a big snap that lets her terminate balls to both sides of the back court. Mable Canton seems to always have a successful volleyball program so it will be fun to watch Stortz’s journey over the next couple of years.
