About Brooklyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an aggressive player with a lot of court awareness. Playing as a setter for 4 years before becoming a DS, I have a wide variety of skills to read the court and know where to put the ball. I am confident in stepping in and taking out of system balls and also not afraid to swing from the back row.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a “next ball” mentality and am always ready to support my teammates. When I did not make the serve recurve pass or was not involved in defense, I am reading the court and ready to swing out of the back row.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in the Care Crafts Club at Fishers High School. I have also been awarded with a Community Achievement Award from Fishers City Council. In 8th grade I was a National Junior Honor Society graduate along with being a We The People regional champion and Indiana State Champion, also finishing 4th in the nation. In 7th grade I received student of the year.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Throughout my volleyball career, I have developed many leadership skills. I was the captain on my 13U team and was awarded MVP. Through my Care Crafts Club, I have learned the importance of community service by making crafts and gifts for people in the hospital.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with a good law school, while also being able to continue my volleyball career. I am also looking for this to be a high academic level school.

Digging a little deeper in Academy’s huge list of rosters, you can find a three-rotation DS in Brooklyn (on the 15-2) that has a consistent serve, is regularly in the right spot on defense, and can receive serve in a reliable manner. Being from Fishers, she’s seen plenty of high-level volleyball in the past year, and will only get better as the years progress. I like her calm demeanor on the court—someone calm of mind will also be calm in body, which is what you need from a DS to pass consistently. No, she’s not the biggest nor the fastest DS out there. However, there are PLENTY of options in Indiana if you want worse than Miss Peck.
