Let’s stick with the setters. Pohlman was another notable name on Nebraska’s assists chart, averaging 8.5 per set for a 23-9 Stanton squad. The Mustangs profited from Pohlman’s ability to track down any pass and keep the offense in a groove while off the net. She can also anchor the right-back area to produce game-changing defensive plays. All of these skills will come into play in the Nebraska Juniors gym.

We can always find some six-rotation gems around Nebraska’s rural circuit. Pohlman’s 2.3 kills per set as a freshman encapsulated only part of her terrific production at Stanton High School. She also piled up 4.1 digs per set while exhibiting her defensive range in multiple zones along the end line. The Mustangs loomed large in last year’s Class C2 race and have the tools needed to take the next step. Pohlman will help get the team there.

Defensive specialists always draw our attention at the Stock Up Showcase. Pohlman was one of many small-town stars who brought a big presence to Saturday’s event. She was an incredibly communicative defender who helped her fellow passers excel during serve-receive drills. Of course, Pohlman was also dialed in when she was the one taking first contacts. Stanton High School has an impressive ball control gem in the underclassman ranks.
