Cate plays with intensity and skills to match! She is a fast accurate setter that runs a quick efficient court with a high court IQ reading the opposition extremely well. She has impressive accurate sets mixing it up setting tight or off the net, running a chute, slide, or setting the back row she is controlled and efficient with great hands. She utilizes all her players well and can pull a sneaky setter dump to leverage points for her team. She serves finding the seams and can dig up from the back row getting to balls. She is calm with out of system plays and communicates well with her teammates using excellent judgement on balls that need help trusting her teammates showing excellent connections with all. She is savvy and talented, a perfect combination and highly valuable asset to her team!

Bakken (pictured) has improved her serving during club season. She threw NKYVC 16-1 for a loop landing them all over the court to start the second set. She moves her feet quick and puts a lot of sets on target, including back sets. Bakken’s athleticism also pays off in the back row with incredible first touches. Bakken has an effective setover and goes hard after balls trying to keep plays alive.

Bakken had a monster season leading the tough Valkyrie offense. She has athletic genes and her dedication shows on the court. Bakken has some sound jump sets. Bakken mixes in short and long sets. Bakken is a sound passer and has a good serve.

Bakken proved her value in the front row for the 15 UA Black team using her size to control the net and set up hitters. Bakken does a variety of short and long sets well. She also timed up a number of blocks.
