I have covered Finley a few times in club this past season and quite frankly, she’s a fun one to watch. The 5’11” outside plays with confidence and an attacking mentality more like an upperclassman than a freshman.. She has advanced approach mechanics, isn’t afraid to take a big swing and competes with an edge that stands out for a freshman. You can tell she just loves the game and has fun playing.

Against Conway, I was impressed with how comfortable Rice looks competing against older, more experienced players. The level of competition doesn’t change the way she plays. She stays aggressive on the RS, remains engaged defensively and doesn’t shy away from big moments. With several years of physical development still ahead of her, Rice already has an impressive foundation and a ceiling that makes her one of the 2030s I’ll be watching closely. I do not have her stats currently.

Freshman Finley Rice Finley Rice 5'10" | OH Mount St. Mary's | 2030 AR proved she belongs at the varsity level with her performance at the Conway Jamboree. The young right side never backed down, even when she found herself across the net from some of the top players in the state.

Rice played with confidence and wasn’t afraid to take a big swing when the opportunity was there. What impressed me most was that the level of competition didn’t seem to change the way she played. That’s a good sign for a freshman getting her first taste of varsity volleyball.

Mount St. Mary’s has plenty of experienced talent around her, so Rice doesn’t have to carry a huge load right away. She just needs to keep competing, learning, and taking advantage of her opportunities. From what I saw in Conway, she is ready for the challenge.

Finley is a solid outside hitter from Mount St. Mary’s High School in Oklahoma City.  The 2030 stud also plays club for EVA 14 Elite.  Although she is one of the youngest players in this showcase, she played with a viciousness that told us she is ready for the big time.  Even with years of physical development ahead of her, armed with supreme approach mechanics and the attacking intent she already brings to the left pin are genuinely advanced for a 2030.  She competed shoulder to shoulder with players who are significantly older and significantly more experienced and did not shrink from a single moment, swinging with confidence and staying connected to every rally on the defensive end without being asked twice.  Miss Rice is a stud 2030 prospect with a ceiling that nobody can fully measure yet and that is the most exciting thing you can say about a player at this stage. Please help me congratulate her on earning Top Performer honors at this showcase.
