About Daisie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m very competitive, but also smart with my placement. As a setter, I have good distribution in pulling blocks. I have a very good left-handed swing as an ambidextrous/right handed setter. I am a very defensive player first. But I also am able to run offense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Very competitive and serious when it comes to playing but able to still have an approachable and positive personality off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in clay club at Roseburg high school which is a ceramics class I am in the three and four top-tier classes which I have taken throughout high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have been a captain on my club teams, the last couple of years and being someone that players look up to to see how to react to a situation as well and the only senior at Roseburg high school this year so I am taking a bunch of younger girls in and helping them develop and be a good leader and role model.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My freshman year I snapped my ACL and tore my meniscus off the bone. Emotionally i became distraught and became very depressed. I worked hard for six months to be able to get cleared as soon as I could. The entire six months I was working on my hands and setting.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college where I can play competitive volleyball while also getting a strong education. I’m open to different divisions, but I want a program that values team culture, player development, and has a coaching staff that’s supportive and pushes athletes to grow. Academically, I’m interested in business or psychology or around Oregon.
