Her defense and passing may be even more impressive, she is strong enough to handle balls easily overhand and delivers in serve receive to keep the offense flowing. She mixes up her swings, hammering away to the deep corner and the line, and Dorscht has the vision to read the blockers and pick the best location to score,

Dorcht is a strong six rotation outside from Seattle Prep, and she is one of the primary players in serve receive for the team. When attacking from the pin she is a low error hitter, while still taking a max swing and ripping the ball when the opportunity is there. Dorcht is easily able to get down and dig out a ball, chase a roll shot to the corner or handle a hard shot right at her. She stays on balance with her feet positioned under her defensively, and when she adjusts to a set offensively her footwork keeps her in a solid attacking position.
