is electric on the court, and she is smart about it.
Before the match, Wong said she wants coaches to notice her leadership, her calm after errors, and her shot placement. On the court, she worked her hits off the block, swung hard, and made great defensive ups. She found high, out-of-system sets and delivered, her snap carried real momentum, and she used her hands well out of system. Her volleyball IQ in placing shots was clear.

is building a game around adjustments and a steady head.
Last spring, as a freshman, Wong showed how she reads a block. She moved away from line swings when she saw an opposing middle closing late, and she mixes her shots so defenses can’t settle. She also talked about keeping teammates connected whether the energy was high or low.
Elyse’s Voice
“I would like college coaches to notice how hard I try to be a good leader and I try to be very encouraging to all my teammates. I also want them to notice that I try to be calm and shake off my errors and move on to the next play. Another aspect of my game is I try to be smart with the spots I hit and move it around the court to grow my game.”
The habits she named in May are the same ones she lists now. The new addition is composure, and coaches should notice that she names it herself.

plays long, strong, and under control. She generates excellent momentum to the ball, creating a heavy arm swing that finishes with strong snap through contact. Her footwork consistently places her in position to attack with balance, and her serve remains a reliable weapon that applies pressure from the first whistle. She has developed into the type of attacker who doesn’t need to overpower every ball because her mechanics allow her to create consistent offensive pressure.

continues to trend upward offensively. Her arm strength immediately grabs your attention, but her ability to attack angles and maintain a strong connection with her setter allows her to create pressure from multiple areas of the court. She looks increasingly comfortable operating at a faster tempo and possesses significant offensive upside.

Elyse Wong is a hitter who is beginning to score with more than just pace. During pool play, she recognized an opposing middle arriving late to close and immediately changed where she was attacking, moving away from line swings and using sharper angles to create separation.
It helped me and my team get them more out of system or even getting ahead in the game.
That same growth is showing up in her offensive toolbox. She mixes shots, opening up different swing options, and becoming more comfortable scoring against a wider range of defenders instead of relying on one attack pattern.
Leadership also shows up naturally in how she describes her role. She wants teammates connected whether the energy is high or low, and with bids already secured in both 15 USA and 15 Open, her focus now turns to SCSN Championships and Nationals with communication and trust at the center. Her game feels increasingly creative, steady, and difficult to scheme against.
