About Emily

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Aggressive, strategic and consistent setter with passion to improve each day to reach the highest level of play possible.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very passionate about volleyball and have a great deal of enthusiasm for all parts of the game. I work hard at being mentally and physically ready for all the different parts of the game that happen all of the time. I believe that making the game fun with your team makes you better together.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I like to train and coach younger players and have been involved in being an assistant coach on several teams, giving lessons, and assisting at large volleyball youth clinics. I also am on the honor roll at school maintaining a high gpa.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed perseverance as I know that to continue to play it just gets more and more competitive and I am always up for this challenge. I have worked on leadership as I have been captain on several of my teams and am always working to be better at this as I think this is an area that there will always so much to learn. I give to my community by volunteering at the food pantry and coaching.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have faced many challenges and each one helps me grow stronger. I have had injuries, big losses, disappointments and many other challenges that all athletes must encounter. I believe in doing the best at everything I do so when I have a challenge, I do what I can in the situation I am in, knowing that I can always do something to improve at all times.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am still working to learn what type of college will be the best fit for me and my life goals, but I do know I want to play volleyball while I am there - wherever it may be :-)
