Emme is also a smallish middle, but certainly makes up for it in effort, attitude and a high level of athleticism. I had to remind myself that she’s only going into her freshman year, as the maturity in her athletic acuity and volleyball IQ were beyond her years. I wrote about her prior to the showcase, and what I saw proved that she’s got a ton of potential, as the volleyball knowledge, strength and overall understanding of what she can do will carry her far in her playing career.

With long arms and probably the highest jump of the four listed today, I’m really intrigued to see how Emme stacks up against bigger and stronger competition at the showcase this Saturday. She hits high and hard, is rarely timid and gets touches on a ton of balls on defense, making others forget that she’s not quite 6′ tall. At Lexington Catholic and at LUV, she’s already accustomed to high-level volleyball, so seeing her against her peers on Saturday should really project how high up the watch list—-or the actual rankings—-she should go.

Brittingham has a good vertical jump allowing her to take solid swings. She makes plays from both the middle and the pins. Brittingham takes solid out of system rips. She finished the match with a shoot. Defensively, she has good blocking technique, thus getting a lot of hands on balls.
