Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
As sophomore I am still developing my skills every time I step on the court. I often showcase a mix of my skills, my athleticism, and growing court awareness. I love to show my speed and agility emphasizing my fundamentals like passing and hitting. I constantly work on consistency and I continue to work on my confidence as a player. I focus on my strong decision making and improving my teamwork.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am a very competitive and determined player. I strive to improve my skills on and off of the court. I'm extremely passionate about volleyball and I am very driven to win as well as resilient when I'm faced with challenges.I strongly value teamwork, discipline and being coachable. Though I often get discouraged when I make mistakes, I am working on building my mental toughness and confidence.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am an active member of the Sisters of Culture club at Divine Savior Holy Angels where we proudly promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness for not only my school community but other communities. Along with my involvement in the club, I am a student recruiter. As a student recruiter I am very heavily involved in welcoming our upcoming class of students and beginning their journey!
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Over the years I have developed strong leadership skills, teamwork, and community service skills through my involvement in volleyball and going out in Milwaukee schools to assist teachers during the day. I help lead small groups during the day and even grade papers to take stress from the teachers. During these experiences I've developed a deep appreciation for teachers and all of their hard work.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
The biggest challenge I've faced was losing my grandpa 2 years ago. He was a big part of my life and my volleyball journey and his absence to this day feels unreal. Balancing school, volleyball, and grieving was hard but I learned to lean on my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for support. Through this experience I've come to learn who I am as an individual and find strength in others.
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm looking for a competitive college that will challenge me academically and as an athlete. I would love to be at a college that has high expectations and values every student that walks onto campus everyday. I love a positive environment with dedicated teachers and coaches as development is important to me. An ideal college for me will help me balance my education and passion for volleyball.
