Evangeline Jeffries Evangeline Jeffries 6'2" | OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State #33 Nation CA has turned height into a full hitting package. She is a 6’3″ senior outside hitter and a Tennessee commit who plays club with City 18 Gold.

She led Sierra Canyon with 7 kills in the 2024 final and added 10 kills on .292 in the 2025 final. The shot menu got bigger each year.

In October she was hitting .333 as a senior with 149 career blocks, and she was closing in on 1,000 career kills. She told me then that she used to lean on her height and length, and that she has since added court vision, power, off-speed shots, and the ability to tool the block. On 10/23 against Marymount, I watched it play out. She found open corners and chose her shots with a high volleyball IQ.

Here is what she told me this week:

“This third matchup, I’m just super excited to go out there and compete with my team. We’ve worked so incredibly hard and we’re ready to leave it all on the court for each other. As a senior, I would love to win and I want to leave everything I have on the court and display who I am as a player.”

She asks for two things, a win and the chance to show who she is as a player. That is a senior who knows what she wants from her last one.

Evangeline Jeffries Evangeline Jeffries 6'2" | OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State #33 Nation CA , a Tennessee commit, brought her offensive firepower against Marymount, finding open corners all over the court. She swung high and hard while avoiding the block, and she got it done.

Before the match, Eva said, “Back then, I relied mostly on my height and length, but over time I’ve added better court vision, power, off-speed shots, and learning to tool the block effectively.” Eva is the full package for Tennessee. She played with a high volleyball IQ in her shot selection, and she will bring that same IQ when Sierra Canyon hosts Los Alamitos on Tuesday.

Evangeline Jeffries Evangeline Jeffries 6'2" | OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State #33 Nation CA has added more than height to her game.

Jeffries, a Tennessee commit, is hitting .333 as a senior with 149 career blocks and is closing in on 1,000 career kills, according to our October look at California’s 2027 Top 10. She served three straight aces at Durango in September 2025.

Eva’s Voice
“My approach to attacking has definitely evolved since my freshman year. Back then, I relied mostly on my height and length, but over time I’ve added better court vision, power, off-speed shots, and learning to tool the block effectively. Stepping into this playoff run as a senior with this team is such a blessing, and we’re so excited to make this final push memorable!”

Her answer reads like the path of a hitter who keeps developing: court vision, power, off-speed shots, and tooling the block. She has gone from an athlete who relied on length to a hitter with options, and that is the habit coaches want to see in a senior.

Evangeline Jeffries is playing the best volleyball of her career right now. Her senior season is her most efficient yet. She is hitting .333 with a higher kill percentage than any season before it. For a player in her fourth varsity year, that jump signals real growth in shot selection and confidence.

I watched her at the Durango Fall Classic, where she dominated the right side of the net with her blocking. She has 149 career blocks. That gives Sierra Canyon a physical presence that opposing outsides have to account for every rotation.

She has been productive for a long time. She has close to 1,000 career kills, including more than 400 as a sophomore, along with 634 digs and 129 aces. That is a complete profile for a pin, and it reflects a player who does not take plays off on either side of the ball.

On a Sierra Canyon roster full of headline names, she continues to raise her level. Tennessee is getting a pin who brings offense, blocking and steady growth.

One thing that stood out about her play was her shot selection. Rather than swinging recklessly, she varied her attacks, making her a versatile offensive threat.

Evangeline Jeffries Evangeline Jeffries 6'2" | OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State #33 Nation CA , a Class of 2027 outside hitter from Sierra Canyon High School and CITY Volleyball Club, has moved up to No. 10 overall in the Prep Dig California State Rankings and the trajectory here is not surprising to anyone who has watched her compete over the past year. She was a key contributor on a Sierra Canyon program that won the CIF Southern Section Division 1 championship in 2025, playing alongside a roster full of nationally ranked and college-committed players and holding her own as one of the central offensive weapons on one of the best teams in the state. At 6’2″, she brings the kind of physical presence that college programs at every level are actively pursuing at the pin, and she pairs that length with genuine athleticism and the ability to impact the game in multiple phases. She is active at the net defensively, reads hitters with a maturity that shows up consistently in big moments, and attacks with the confidence of someone who has been through playoff battles and come out better for it. CITY Volleyball Club has been a factory for college-level talent in Southern California and she fits the profile of a player that environment builds. She will do wonders at the University of Tennessee when she arrives on campus in a few years. Please help us in congratulating her on making a huge jump in the State Ranking List.

Evangeline Jeffries Evangeline Jeffries 6'2" | OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State #33 Nation CA was Sierra Canyon’s most consistent offensive presence. She led the team with 11 kills on 19 swings (.474) and added five blocks to her stat line. Fearless at the net, Jeffries attacked through the block and anchored the team’s front-row defense, making her one of the most impactful players of the championship. She sealed the championship with the final block alongside Omoruyi.

Jeffries has not announced her commitment and will be playing club this season for City Volleyball Club 17 Gold

Evangeline Jeffries Evangeline Jeffries 6'2" | OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State #33 Nation CA brings a heavy arm and fearless serving presence. She ripped three straight aces in set three and stayed steady as a scorer from both the front and back row. Her versatility to attack on either pin makes her a matchup problem for blockers, and her strong block press on defense adds another layer to her impact. Jeffries continues to prove why she’s one of Sierra Canyon’s most reliable weapons. For college coaches, Jeffries is an uncommitted prospect with size, power, and poise that projects ready for the next level. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

Miss Jeffries has risen in the State Rankings.  She is now currently ranked as the 15^th best overall player according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays for Sierra Canyon High School and also for the City volleyball club program.  Eva has made a huge jump due to the power that we are seeing her attack with now.  We have always known that she has the frame to play at the next level, but she has gotten so much stronger this year and it truly shows in every aspect of the game.  Her defensive footwork moves with a purpose and so does her transition footwork off of the net.  One of the best aspects of her game that I love is how she is always on the balls of her feet and hardly ever let her heels touch the floor.  This keeps her super fast and bouncy to react to anything that comes her way.  As a blocker she continues to get better and this is evident by how she is pressing over the net to seal it away this season.  We think she has tons of potential and can keep rising in this list in the future.  Please help us congratulate her on moving up in our prestigious State Rankings.
