Kendall Omoruyi is the type of athlete who tends to shift the energy of an entire court the moment warmups begin.

Her combination of athleticism, physicality, and confidence already makes her difficult to ignore, but what makes her especially dangerous heading into UA Next is how much her game has continued to evolve after commitment.

Blocking has taken a major jump this season, and the technical adjustments, dropping the inside hand, reading the hitter earlier, and opening her body more efficiently in transition, are now creating a middle who is closing blocks harder and attacking with even more confidence.

What stands out most, though, is how she thinks when the level rises. She is not simply swinging harder. She is reading the floor, using her toolbox, mixing shots, and forcing defenders to solve different problems every rally.

Already verbally committed to University of Nebraska – Lincoln, Kendall looks like an athlete who is not just chasing an All-America roster spot…

Being named to the 2026 NIT All-Tournament Team reflected more than a single weekend. It represented preparation, consistency, and the work built long before first serve. The Nebraska commit competed with aggression and composure in decisive moments, staying steady while remaining assertive when sets tightened. Her focus on being a strong presence on both sides of the ball allowed her to influence tempo and elevate teammates within match flow.

“Competing at that level showed me that I can rise to the moment,” Omoruyi shared, a belief reinforced by her resilience under pressure. Triple Crown strengthened her trust in preparation and highlighted her ability to remain consistent when intensity increased. Her gratitude for the recognition reflects maturity, while her performance confirmed why she belongs among the tournament’s most impactful athletes.

There is no change with the top spot of the Class of 2027 Rankings.  Kendall Omoruyi is number one.  The Class of 2027 middle blocker is the most dominant player in the field.  She previously played for Arizona Storm, but has since moved to California where she is playing for Sierra Canyon High School and will be suiting up for LOVB 17 Angel, a loaded roster of nationally ranked players.  Omoruyi will be heading to Nebraska who unofficially has the top recruiting Class of 2027.  Her ability to control the game out of the middle is just difference.  She has the blend of athleticism, physicality, and finesse that allows her to dominate the game.

Her team has been fully locked in during practices, making every rep count and maintaining a high level of competition in the gym. Kendall’s focus has been on honing her skills and maximizing each training session to ensure she is ready to perform when it matters most.

She is especially excited to showcase her energy and court presence this season. Kendall wants to play with joy, bring confidence to the court, and show the progress she has made since last year. Her personal goal for the tournament is to be the best version of herself and reflect the work she has consistently put in over the past year.

Her advice to other athletes is straightforward and practical. She emphasizes the importance of rest and being mindful of nutrition, encouraging athletes to avoid heavy foods that can slow them down and to prioritize recovery so they can stay explosive and energized throughout the tournament.

Kendall Omoruyi Kendall Omoruyi 6'4" | MB/OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State CA selected for NTDP Girls Indoor Training Series U19 Division – Kansas City, Missouri

Please officially welcome Miss Omoruyi to the State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the best overall prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings.  She plays for Sierra Canyon High School and used to play in Arizona for Arizona Storm volleyball club.  Since she has moved to California, she has proved to be a phenom and fit right in with the best of the best.  The Nebraska commit is also widely regarded as the top volleyball player in the nation.  She also plays for our U19 National squad.  When you watch her for just a few minutes, you will see why everyone is in awe of her athleticism and power.  Moving with both grace and precision, she is surgical when attacking through the defense.  Her ability to get off of the ground super quickly and on time makes it very difficult to stop her.  In our opinion, you have to commit a double block on her at all times and pinch in the pins for that specific purpose.  If you do not, she will make you pay big time!  This young lady will definitely be on our Olympic team sooner rather than later and is a true joy to watch.  We are very proud to have her in our state and listed in our publication.  Please help us congratulate her on earning the top spot in our State Rankings.

She finished with 13 kills, and seven blocks, growing stronger as the match went on. Her blend of length, timing, and controlled aggression made her a huge factor at the net, shutting down Mater Dei’s outside hitters and delivering big swings when her team needed them most.

Kendall Omoruyi Kendall Omoruyi 6'4" | MB/OH Sierra Canyon | 2027 State CA showed why she is the nation’s top-ranked player and a Nebraska commit. Her block framing was a defining piece of the match, consistently disrupting Marymount’s hitters and taking away lanes at the net. She converted in transition with quick kills through the middle and brought a steady presence that Sierra Canyon leaned on in every set.
