Part of the 4A runners-up this past fall, Harper is a smart shot-making outside that can do a little of everything on the volleyball court. With the ability to see what the defense gives her and attack, she surprised some of the volleyball blue-bloods down the playoff stretch last fall, including having an epic match against Yorktown in the state semifinal. She might be relegated to being a defender at the next level, but knowing that she’s more than capable of attacking at will with brains and savvy makes her that much more recruitable.

Speaking of “going for it”, Harper might be undersized, but you’ll never see her give anything less than 100%. Yes, she’s undersized, and will most likely be more of a DS as her career continues. For now, she finds ways to attack high and hard at undisciplined blocks and does well to minimize errors on out-of-system swings, as evidenced by her play last fall. I’m interested to see more of her in defense and serve receive, as that is probably where her future lies.

Upon arrival, I immediately deferred Harper to the DS group. Then she started attacking. Miss Gentry has a heavy hand and a quick arm that makes her attack harder to block than most in her graduating class, and she showed as much when the 6-on-6 was split into each class. She’s also solid in serve receive as well as floor defense, making her an ideal small school recruit that can do a little of everything no matter what you need. You can find Harper on Circle’s 15 Volt roster.
