Bakker may be overlooked some because she’s on a deeply talented team, but Bakker is part of the rotation and had as much of a role in Beechwood’s All “A” State championship run over the weekend. Bakker can paint the back line offensively and influences balls high and wide with a strong vertical jump. She makes clean passes and had some lunging saves throughout the six games in the tournament.

Bakker makes it tough for opponents to focus on one player with her swings from the outsides. She mixes things up with soft and hard hits. Here defense is also something to be reckoned with. Bakker reads defenses well then makes crisp passes under control.

Bakker can put balls down when the Tigers need kills. She mixes in a number of hard and soft hits putting balls over and off blockers. Bakker has made strides with her defense during club season. Bakker reads hitters well on defense then lunges forward to square her arms up to balls and make good passes. Bakker had 162 kills last fall to help Beechwood go 25-9 and make the 9th Region Tournament for the second straight season.
