She dazzles in a number of ways on the court and will get a good number of swings on this loaded team. O’Brien takes rips from both the front and back rows. She does her best to pound balls into seams. Defensively, O’Brien uses her great range to keep plays alive. O’Brien had 314 kills, 296 digs and 64 aces in the fall, helping Beechwood go 33-6, win the All “A” State championship and advance to the 9th Region semifinals for the first time since 2017.

The versatile O’Brien once again helped the Tigers reach another goal. O’Brien got back up quickly when knocked down throughout the game. She lands quality hits from all six spots on the floor including pipe plays. O’Brien eyes the opposite side of the floor, listens to teammates then lets balls rip. O’Brien also tracked down a number of balls that Beechwood eventually scored on. O’Brien said being surrounded by good teammates is one of the best feelings in the world.

O’Brien (pictured) defines the word versatile each time she takes the court. O’Brien goes above and beyond what the coaching staff asks of her in many ways. O’Brien pounds balls hard from all six spots on the court and nicely mixes in soft shots. O’Brien is also a pure passer and does a good job serving balls to different spots on the floor. O’Brien’s personable character shows with her leadership on and off the court. O’Brien said trust and the desire to improve daily have led to both team and individual success in Beechwood’s 16-1 start.

O’Brien is as solid of a six-ration player as any player in the area producing all over the court. O’Brien executed on swings all over the court and made simple passes. She executed a tandem at one point in the game. O’Brien hits off blocks for big points. She kept Scott out of system with sound jump serves. Described by teammates and close ones as bubbly, selfless and strong, O’Brien is a great leader on the court and a nice person to talk to off the court. O’Brien credited Scott for being scrappy, not letting balls hit the floor easily, forcing Beechwood to work harder and be smarter with the shots.

O’Brien (pictured) has a caring, unselfish personality off the court and that carries onto the court. O’Brien is not the tallest outside on this list, but her athleticism and work ethic overcome that. She smacks balls down the line on one play, then across the court on the next on the go routes. O’Brien is also very coachable.

O’Brien’s ball placement has really come around during the club season. O’Brien can arc balls to the opposite side of the court on one play then pound balls down the near line on the next play making teams defend the entire court. She is a pleasant person to talk to off the court which resonates well with her teammates both on and off the court.

O’Brien consistently brings great energy to the court. She has a tough floater that landed aces on sound defensive specialists. O’Brien can hit balls off blocks and forms nice double blocks at the net. O’Brien said NKYVC’s philosophy is to be intentional with everything they do, noting discipline is the key to success.
