About Jacey

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a 6'0" versatile attacker with a strong court presence. My primary position for school ball is 6 rotation OH, where I led my team to its first SPC Championship since 2018. For club ball, I am a utility player for Houston Skyline’s top 17s team, a program I’ve been part of since my 12s year. My biggest strength is my high, quick, and powerful swing, which allows me to terminate consistently.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a leader who encourages others and thrives as a team player. Recognized for my resilience and competitive spirit, I approach every challenge with diligence and determination. My goal is to elevate those around me while pushing myself to perform at the highest level.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Junior Achievement (Executive President) Mavs Christian Fellowship (Communication and Worship Leader) Black Student Union (Member) Three-year Varsity Letterman Volleyball (Two-Year Captain) Honor Roll 4 semesters Two-time recipient of the St. John's "Not Without Honor" Award. Awarded to student athletes who embody excellence, sportsmanship, and leadership on and off the court.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As captain for my high school team, I have learned how to motivate teammates, make quick decisions under pressure, and set an example through effort and attitude. Volleyball requires constant communication and trust. I can work collaboratively, listen actively, and adapt to different roles for the team's success. I attend an academically rigorous high school, so learning balance has also been key.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Have I had to overcome things? Yes. But, to be honest, I have not faced any truly significant challenges, all things considered. I am blessed to have an army of people who love and support my passion for this sport and my academic endeavors. When I consider the things happening in the world today, I know that I am speaking from a place of privilege, and I don't take that for granted.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a school that offers high academic rigor, a competitive volleyball program with a strong team culture, and a vibrant campus life. I value an environment where I can excel both on the court and in the classroom, while being part of a community that is supportive, energetic, and committed to growth.

Carroll is a starter in the Houston Skyline 16 Royal team that will fight in the Power Pool of the event’s 16s division. Extremely physical, but also well-rounded, she’s a tremendous asset at the net, offering significant contributions on both sides of the ball. Carroll is a beast offensively, making her approach with incredible explosiveness and making excellent choices with her swings up at the net – she’s very effective when hitting on the right and can score from the left too. The middle is also extremely efficient with her blocking, reading opponents extremely well, getting off the floor in no time, and aggressively placing her arms across the net to shut them down.
