Elite Varsity Standouts from Queens of the Court Tourney

Ten teams used this past Saturday and Sunday at the Queens of the Court Elite Division at Momentous Sports Center in Irvine to determine their starting lineups and make any final adjustments before the season begins.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When the tournament was all said and done, Mater Dei repeated as champions, defeating San Juan Hills in a three-set barnburner. The match had the feel of a CIF Southern Section playoff match, as both teams made big plays down the stretch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the Monarchs, this year's team features several fresh faces and up-and-coming talent. But one thing is certain: they're always up for the challenge, no matter who they face or where they play.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One player who came up big for Mater Dei in the final was <strong>Emma Kingsto</strong>n, who unofficially had four kills in the third set of the championship match.
